Growing up on the waters of Tampa Bay, my life was shaped by tide, wind, and the relentless pull of the horizon. As a boy, every launch carried anticipation—the thrill of the chase, the solitude of sunrise over open flats, and the early realization that the sea is equal parts calming sanctuary and formidable adversary.
The ocean demands preparation, judgment, and unconditional respect. On blue water, you feel simultaneously empowered by freedom and humbled by nature's immense scale. That duality stays with you forever once you’ve experienced it from the helm.
Alongside my passion for fishing grew a hands-on obsession with building and fabrication. Early experiences welding, working metal, and rigging marine systems taught me how materials react under load, where stress points form, and why thoughtful engineering is often about eliminating unnecessary complexity rather than adding extra gadgetry.

At the marina, shiny finishes and soft upholstery win attention. But fifty miles out in a rising sea, none of that matters. What matters is structural integrity, hull behavior in follow seas, rapid deck drainage, and mechanical layout when something requires attention.

That core truth drove every step of my career as a USCG Master Captain—from charter operations and offshore tournament runs to evaluating hulls across North America and South Africa.

Saint Boats International / ST Boat Builders is the master manufacturer located in Cape Town, South Africa—a region world-famous for extreme ocean testing.
Halo Prime is the exclusive North American distributor. Captain Justin contributes real-world feedback, North American package specifications, and owner-focused perspective directly to the factory team.
My journey to founding Halo Prime didn't start in a boardroom; it started during a international fishing tournament in South Africa, where I met Francois—the founder of ST Boat Builders / Saint Boats International.
We connected instantly over a shared reverence for blue water and a mutual intolerance for compromised boatbuilding. Francois and his team had been crafting rugged, sea-proven hulls in the harsh waters where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans collide off Cape Town. We spent hours discussing deadrise, tunnel compression, weight distribution, and deck layouts.

Halo Prime wasn’t created because I wanted to sell boats.
It was created to solve a persistent frustration I saw among experienced offshore anglers and boaters in North America: the belief that serious open-water capability required either a massive 35-foot triple-engine monohull or accepting excessive weight, complex maintenance, and astronomical price tags.
By combining South African ocean-testing pedigree with North American electrical, electronic, and power configurations, Halo Prime gives owners a lighter, faster, more stable platform that lets them spend more time enjoying the water and less time dealing with unnecessary complexity.
